Going into Fight Club 2 I was pretty ambivilant. Sequel My girl surprised me with this comic and I was really looking forward to it. Fight Club was a fantastic book, it was about what it means to conform to what society wants us to be and then realizing that society may be more flawed than the person we were before the transformation. Fight Club is one of the most unique films I have ever seen. In addition to presenting a rather fresh take on life, FC also presents its material in a fresh way.
My main interest in the film is in that, in my opinion, it does not present characters for us to think about. In the world of Fight Club, cancer is a byproduct of our desiccated consumer culture. Its a dumb message and it seems clear that Palahniuk wants his satire two ways: both as an indictment of middleclass complacency and as Fight club book opinion indicator of deeper truths that the book isnt competent enough to articulate before selfdestructing.
Fight Club's protagonist might occasionally become foggy about who he truly is (you'll see what I mean), but one thing is for certain: you're not likely to forget the book's author.
